6 fun (or not) facts about anygivenstory

This anygivenstory has been up for half a year and we decided to show you a little bit more of what goes around in the backstage of this little house. How? By telling you a bunch of stuff about this blog that might surprise or amuse you (although we don’t guarantee that…). #1. anygivenstory wasn’t our first choice for the blog’s name. What a shock. It will be hard to recover from a revelation like this one that changes, even though might not seem like it. The process of choosing a name for the blog was not easy for us. Possibly there are a lot of bloggers for whom this is an intuitive or obvious step. It wasn’t our case, at all. First, we used the newbies method: to read articles about choosing names for a brand. Those articles give…

StoryCorps: the humanity’s wisdom in an archive

We love good stories. Oh, I bet we surprised you with this one. No one would tell that. Yes, those are breaking news. Besides that obvious fact, we also love meeting people who love to share them too. Some time ago we bumped into an amazing project and it quickly became a favorite. We’re talking about StoryCorps, an organization that works towards preserving and sharing people’ stories. They do it by recording a conversation between two people. Anyone can volunteer to do it in what they call StoryBooths or MobileBooths, which are located in different cities in the United States of America, or through their free app, from any point of the globe. It has already collected and archived more than 60,000 interviews, which gives us an idea of how rich and diverse the records can be! Its founder, Dave…

A stupid hat, lollipops and leadership

It’s been almost two months since we started this blog. We’ve already shared stories from ideas, people and places. At the same time, we’ve been inspired on a daily basis by projects with the same goals as ours. We’re on the computador working and, as professional procrastinators, we often wonder around the endless world of internet. We explore, click by click, websites, pages and videos. Some we don’t take seriously, because they’re just entertainment to clear our heads. Others lead us to think, to deconstruct ideas that we used to have, open our horizonts. Here, on the blog, we’ll be talking about the second group. Today we’re sharing a Drew Dudley‘s TED Talk where he talks about leadership. Not in a conventional way, explaining the characteristics or types of leadership. He shows us what he thinks about leadership through…

A blog is born

We did it: a blog is born. Yeah! But not without a long gestation period, we must say. We shaped it for a year and a half, so it’s fair to say that this blog could be a whale, since that’s usually how long mother whales take care of their young ones.     We couldn’t find a better time than a random day in June to let it see the light of day for the first time, after all the talking, filming, photographing, editing, transcribing, writing, translating, proofreading, designing and coding…? Ok, we admit it: the last two are a joke. We didn’t do that. We asked two wonderful and talented friends for help and here is a thumbs up for them! Anyway, we’ve been working for a while behind the scenes and it is about time to start sharing our work with…
